Viet Nga Agri Officially Launches the TRVC Project in Dong Thap Province

Viet Nga Agri has officially joined the Transforming Rice Value Chain for Climate Resilient and Sustainable Development (TRVC) project — a key initiative launched and implemented in Vietnam by the SNV Netherlands Development Organisation, in collaboration with the Department of Crop Production (MARD) and the People’s Committees of An Giang, Kien Giang, and Dong Thap provinces.

The Transforming Rice Value Chain for Climate Resilient and Sustainable Development in the Mekong Delta (TRVC) project is implemented from 2023 to 2027, benefiting around 200,000 farming households. The project provides cash-based incentive rewards for participants who achieve verified greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction targets, with emissions validated by independent verification agencies. The first crop under the TRVC project officially started during the Summer–Autumn 2024 season.

The TRVC project aims to support enterprises within the rice value chain in scaling up the adoption of advanced production technologies. Its key objectives include enhancing economic value for smallholder farmers and stakeholders, improving rice quality, while promoting social values, reducing GHG emissions, and protecting the environment.

The project’s outcomes are expected to contribute significantly to the implementation of Vietnam’s national initiative: the “One Million Hectares of High-Quality, Low-Emission Rice Associated with Green Growth in the Mekong Delta” program — initially from 2023 to 2027, with plans for further expansion in subsequent years.
