Applying Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD) for Water Management<\/figcaption><\/figure>\nThrough a comprehensive solution package \u2014 including reducing seeding rates, optimizing fertilizer use, limiting pesticide application, and implementing Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD) irrigation \u2014 the model not only helps optimize production costs but also saves water, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, and moves toward a greener, more sustainable agricultural system. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/span>Expanding the TRVC Model to Enhance Rice Value<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\nMr. Duong Hong Dan, Director of Agricultural Cooperative No. 2 (Thuong Lac Commune, Hong Ngu District, Dong Thap Province), shared:\u201cThe TRVC project has helped farmers significantly reduce production costs by applying scientific cultivation techniques. Farmers are guided to reduce seeding density, apply fertilizers and pesticides at the right time and dosage, avoiding waste and inefficiency. <\/span><\/i>Particularly, the support from Viet Nga Agri, with its high-quality fertilizer products and practical usage guidance, has enabled farmers to cultivate more sustainably. <\/span><\/i>As a result, rice yields remain high\u2014averaging around 7.5 tons per hectare\u2014while production costs are lower than those outside the project area. Seeing such clear benefits, many farmers are enthusiastic and eager to expand this model further <\/span><\/i>\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\nMr. Duong Hong Dan (right), Director of Cooperative No. 2 in Hong Ngu District, Dong Thap Province, expressed his satisfaction with the positive outcomes of the TRVC project and its potential for future expansion.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\nHe highly appreciated the effectiveness of the TRVC model, believing it could be replicated on a larger scale. Mr. Dan shared that thanks to thorough training on the \u201cThree Reductions \u2013 Three Gains\u201d and \u201cOne Must \u2013 Five Reductions\u201d practices, cooperative members were able to quickly adopt the model and achieve notable results. Following a successful crop season, the cooperative plans to encourage more farmers to join, helping to increase yields and reduce production costs. Many farmers outside the project area have also shown great interest after witnessing the improved growth of TRVC rice fields \u2014 a promising sign for expanding the model to nearby fields in the future. <\/span><\/p>\nMr. Duong Hong Thai, a farmer participating in the TRVC project at Cooperative No. 2, Thuong Lac Commune, Hong Ngu District, shared:<\/span>\u201cAt first, many farmers around me were hesitant and unsure, since we had never practiced the cultivation methods introduced in the project before. But after seeing the actual results and improved yield from my own rice field, many neighboring farmers praised the outcome and expressed their interest in joining the project in the upcoming season <\/span><\/i>\u201d. <\/span><\/p>\n
