According to meteorological experts from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the southeastern coastal region of Vietnam is likely to experience a tidal surge.

In addition, from now until October 22, tidal water levels along the southeastern coast of Vietnam are expected to remain high. The tidal surge <\/a>increases the risk of flooding in low-lying coastal and riverside areas, as well as regions outside protective dikes.<\/p>\n

In Dong Thap Province, the high-tide period of the ninth lunar month has just begun, causing water levels in many areas of the province to rise rapidly.<\/p>\n

Many fruit orchards in low-lying areas have been inundated due to the high tide.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Recorded water levels reached 2.43 meters in Cao Lanh, 2.20 meters in Sa Dec, and 2.38 meters in Cai Tau Ha \u2014 all 0.15 to 0.2 meters higher than the same period in 2023. <\/p>\n

Tidal Surge Forecast for the Coming Days

It is forecast that the high tide during the ninth lunar month will exceed Alert Level 3 by about 0.2 meters and be approximately 0.2 meters higher than the same period in 2023.
Afternoon tides are expected to be 5\u201310 cm higher than morning tides, so residents living in low-lying and alluvial areas without protective dikes should remain cautious and take preventive measures against possible flooding during late afternoon and evening hours.<\/p>\n
