According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in the first nine months of 2024, the value of agricultural, forestry, and fisheries exports<\/a><\/strong> reached US$13.86 billion, an increase of 71.2% compared to the same period in 2023. Key products such as wood, fruits and vegetables, coffee, rice, and pepper made significant contributions. <\/p>\n

Contributing to the overall agricultural export surplus were the breakthrough export values \u200b\u200bof many key commodities, such as: wood and wood products (US$11.66 billion); fruits and vegetables (US$5.87 billion); coffee (US$4.37 billion); rice (US$4.37 billion); cashew nuts (US$3.17 billion); shrimp (US$2.79 billion); and pangasius fish (US$1.36 billion)… Notably, pepper reached an export value of US$1 billion, officially joining the “billion-dollar club” after more than 10 years of absence.<\/p>\n

In addition, the average export prices of many commodities also reached record levels, including coffee, which increased by 56% to 3,897 USD\/ton; pepper, which increased by 49.2% to 4,941 USD\/ton; rubber, which increased by 19%; and rice, which increased by 13.1%.<\/p>\n

The sharp increase in agricultural export prices has boosted farmers’ profits. This high price trend has encouraged farmers to adopt modern techniques, contributing to increased yields and improved product quality. <\/p>\n

The fourth quarter of 2024 is projected to see continued growth in food exports, driven by high demand and new official export agreements with China. The agricultural sector aims for exports of $57-58 billion for the entire year, increasing profits for farmers and businesses. <\/p>\n
