Vietnam wins bid for rice export package to Indonesia.<\/h3>\n

The Indonesian National Logistics Agency (Bulog) announced the results of the July tender for 320,000 tons of 5% broken rice<\/a><\/strong>. Vietnam won 7 out of 12 bids, while Myanmar won 3 rice lots.<\/p>\n

Vietnamese businesses won 7 out of 12 tenders, with a total of 185,000 tons of rice awarded.<\/p>\n

Among the businesses that won bids in this round, the Northern Food Corporation (Vinafood 1) won the most bids with 4 lots, totaling 104,000 tons.<\/p>\n

The remaining three companies won the bid for 27,000 tons each: Southern Food Corporation (Vinafood 2), Gia International Joint Stock Company, and An Vi Import-Export Joint Stock Company. These are companies that use rice of Vietnamese origin. <\/p>\n

In addition, Vietnam’s Mekong Food Company won the bid for 27,000 tons but used rice sourced from Myanmar.<\/p>\n

According to information from the rice market website Ssricenews, in this bidding round, the Northern Food Corporation (Vinafood 1) offered rice at prices ranging from 567.5 to 577.5 USD\/ton. The Southern Food Corporation (Vinafood 2) offered prices from 579.5 to 598 USD\/ton. Thai and Pakistani companies also participated in the bidding but were unsuccessful due to their relatively high prices of 584 to 592 USD\/ton. <\/p>\n

The Vietnamese and Myanmar companies that won the bid this time both offered a price of 563 USD\/ton. This price is equivalent to the price at which Vietnamese companies won the bid in May 2024. <\/p>\n

Indonesia forecasts its rice import demand to increase to 5.18 million tons in 2024, creating a significant opportunity for Vietnamese rice exporters<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n
