This is considered the official announcement allowing the import of fresh pomelos from Vietnam. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vietnga.vn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/buoi-viet-nam.jpg\" alt=\"Vietnamese pomelos have officially been licensed for production.\" width=\"990\" height=\"660\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>Pomelo has become the third fresh fruit from Vietnam allowed to be imported into South Korea, after dragon fruit and mango. The Plant Protection Department (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) assesses this as an important step, opening up great opportunities for Vietnamese agricultural products to access international markets, while affirming the quality and reputation of Vietnamese agricultural products in the global supply chain. <\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_market_is_wide_open_for_Vietnamese_pomelo\"><\/span>The market is wide open for Vietnamese pomelo.<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>With a market of 50 million people, South Korea is a very promising market for Vietnamese pomelo \u2013 one of the 14 key fruit groups according to the fruit tree development plan directed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. Currently, the whole country has more than 100,000 hectares of pomelo orchards, with a production of over 900,000 tons. <\/p>\n<p>Provinces with large grapefruit growing areas include Ben Tre (over 8,800 hectares), Vinh Long (over 8,600 hectares), and Dong Nai (over 5,400 hectares). Famous grapefruit varieties with great export potential include green-skinned grapefruit, Nam Roi grapefruit, and Tan Trieu grapefruit. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vietnga.vn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/buoi-viet-nam-1.jpg\" alt=\"The market is wide open for Vietnamese pomelo.\" width=\"1000\" height=\"687\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>Before South Korea, several major markets such as the United States and New Zealand also granted permission for <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/vietnga.vn\/han-quoc-chinh-thuc-nhap-khau-buoi-viet-nam\/\">Vietnamese pomelos<\/a><\/strong>. Currently, Vietnamese pomelos are officially exported to 13 countries and territories.
