Cashew exports are projected to increase sharply in the last months of the year.
According to data from the General Department of Customs, in September 2024, Vietnam’s cashew exports reached over 57,000 tons, worth 372.16 million USD, a decrease of 11.6% in volume but an increase of 8.9% in value compared to August 2024.
Overall, in the first nine months of 2024, Vietnam’s cashew exports reached 543.5 thousand tons, worth 3.15 billion USD, an increase of 20.1% in volume and 21.7% in value compared to the same period last year.
Vietnam mainly exports cashew nuts of the W320, W240, and W180 varieties, accounting for 65.02% of the total volume and 71.5% of the total export value. The growth in exports of these cashew varieties has had a positive impact on the entire industry.
Forecasts indicate a strong increase in cashew exports in the final months of the year, driven by cyclical factors and an upward trend in export prices.
