Viet Nga Fertilizer recently attended the Communication Conference on the collection and disposal of pesticide packaging, combined with the Signing Ceremony of the Coordination Program on Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion under the “Transforming the Rice Value Chain for Climate Resilience and Sustainable Development in the Mekong Delta” (TRVC) Project. The event helped raise awareness of environmental protection and social safety, and established a cooperation agreement to promote gender equality and increase the participation of people with disabilities in the rice value chain.

Communication conference raises awareness of environmental protection and social safety in rice production
During the conference, delegates, cooperatives, farmers and businesses participating in the TRVC Project received training on Environmental Assurance and Social Safety in rice production. The training focused on raising awareness of environmental responsibility, the safe use of agricultural inputs and the implementation of rice production criteria oriented toward sustainable development.
One of the key topics of the conference was guidance on collecting, sorting and disposing of used pesticide packaging in accordance with regulations. Proper handling of packaging helps reduce littering in fields and canals, lowers the risk of soil and water pollution and protects public health.

In addition, delegates were briefed on the requirements for social safety in rice production, including ensuring safe working conditions, using agricultural inputs as instructed and limiting negative impacts on the environment and communities, while strengthening the role of farmers, cooperatives and businesses in achieving the goals of the TRVC Project.
Through these communication activities, all parties raised their awareness and responsibility in building a green, safe and sustainable rice value chain, contributing to the goals of reducing emissions, protecting the environment and adapting to climate change in the Mekong Delta.
Signing of the Coordination Program to promote Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion
The highlight of the conference was the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on Promoting GEDSI Communication for 2026–2027 between the An Giang Provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment, the An Giang Provincial Department of Health, the An Giang Provincial Women's Union, the businesses participating in the TRVC Project, agricultural cooperatives and farmers.

The signing marks an important step in implementing the TRVC Project, aiming to build a rice value chain that is not only economically and environmentally sustainable but also inclusive and socially equitable. Through coordination among the parties, communication on gender equality and disability inclusion is promoted.
This activity helps create conditions for women to play a greater role in agricultural production, while expanding opportunities for people with disabilities to access and participate in the rice value chain. It is also an important foundation for agencies, organizations, businesses and localities to join hands in building a safe, non-discriminatory and sustainable production environment.
