TRVC Project Year 1 Mid-term Workshop – Summer-Autumn Crop 2024, Dong Thap Province

On January 10, 2025, the Mid-term Workshop for Year 1 – Summer-Autumn Crop of the TRVC Project (“Transforming Rice Value Chain for Climate Resilient and Sustainable Development in Dong Thap Province”) was held, attracting numerous delegates from central and local authorities, as well as representatives from enterprises.

This workshop marked an important milestone in the project’s journey toward promoting sustainable rice cultivation, climate resilience, and low-emission agricultural development in the Mekong Delta region.

The workshop aimed to evaluate the implementation results of 2024, including achievements, challenges, and lessons learned, while outlining the action plan for 2025.
Attending the event were Mr. Tran Huu Vinh, representative of Viet Nga Agri; Ms. Tran Thu Ha, TRVC Project Director; and Mr. Nguyen Van Vu Minh, Provincial Party Member and Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dong Thap Province.
The workshop also brought together representatives from the Department of Crop Production, the Vietnam Food Association, various provincial departments and agencies, as well as cooperative representatives and enterprises involved in the rice value chain.

The workshop presented a comprehensive report on the 2024 project results, analyzing economic, social, and environmental impacts from the high-quality, low-emission rice production model. Participants also shared practical experiences and challenges faced by enterprises and cooperatives, while discussing proposals and action plans for 2025 to expand the project’s scale and enhance its effectiveness.

Mr. Tran Huu Vinh, representative of Viet Nga Agri, shared: “The TRVC project is a clear demonstration of Viet Nga Agri’s commitment to linking business growth with sustainable agricultural development. We sincerely appreciate the support from the Plant Protection Sub-Department, local cooperatives, and organizations such as SNV and Regrow throughout the implementation process.”

although the project initially faced challenges in farmer engagement, its practical effectiveness has helped build farmers’ trust and confidence in the new cultivation techniques. “In the coming time, we will continue to expand the project area, organize more technical training sessions, and seek new partnerships to provide the best support for farmers.”

With a spirit of active collaboration, openness, and professionalism, the Mid-term Workshop for Year 1 of the TRVC Project – Summer-Autumn Crop in Dong Thap Province concluded successfully.
The event provided diverse perspectives and innovative solutions to address climate change challenges, improve rice productivity, and contribute to building a sustainable and modern agricultural sector in Vietnam.
