Viet Nga Agri Organizes Closing Workshop for the TRVC Project at Cooperative No. 2

On March 25, 2025, Viet Nga Agri successfully organized the Closing Workshop of the TRVC Project (Transforming Rice Value Chain for Climate Resilient and Sustainable Development in the Mekong Delta) at Cooperative No. 2 (Thuong Lac Commune, Hong Ngu District).
This event marked an important milestone following Crop Season 2 (Winter–Spring 2024–2025), aiming to evaluate the project’s outcomes and pave the way for promising developments in the upcoming crop season.

The workshop brought together a wide range of participants, including representatives from the TRVC Project Management Board, Hong Ngu District Department of Agriculture, Tan Hong District Agricultural Service Center, and the People’s Committee of Thuong Lac Commune. Also in attendance were representatives from Ca Mau Fertilizer, Global Crop Protection, as well as cooperative members from Cooperative No. 2 and several other invited cooperatives.

Within the framework of the workshop, delegates reflected on the implementation journey of the TRVC Project (Transforming Rice Value Chain for Climate Resilient and Sustainable Development in the Mekong Delta), shared practical lessons learned, and proposed solutions to improve the effectiveness of upcoming crop seasons. Key topics discussed included:
A summary of the results from the Winter–Spring 2024–2025 season, highlighting achievements and challenges;
Experience sharing from cooperatives and farmers involved in the project to help replicate effective farming models;
The project’s next-phase plans for the upcoming season.

“Following today’s closing workshop, on behalf of the TRVC Project Management Board, I hope to see more businesses join the project, thereby strengthening the connection between farmers and cooperatives.
At the same time, I encourage farmers to gain a deeper understanding of the TRVC Project, because once emission reductions are verified, farmers will be eligible for financial support.
Based on the results from the recent second crop season, I look forward to seeing Viet Nga Agri, along with other units such as Ca Mau Fertilizer and Global Crop Protection, work closely to transfer rice cultivation techniques aligned with Decision 145. In addition, the workshop emphasized the need to promote the adoption of advanced cultivation practices such as the “One Must, Five Reductions” model, reducing seeding rates, Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD) irrigation techniques, compliance with sustainable rice production standards, and effective post-harvest straw management.
. These solutions not only help optimize yields and reduce production costs but also play a vital role in lowering greenhouse gas emissions, moving toward a greener and more sustainable agricultural sector.
