Lychee from Bac Giang Province Expected to Generate Over 5.775 Billion VND in Revenue in 2024
This year’s lychee production in Bac Giang province reached approximately 100,000 tons, only 50% of last year’s figure. However, the selling price is at its highest level in history, with total revenue from lychees in 2024 estimated at over 5,775 billion VND.

Specifically, the total consumption of lychees in Bac Giang is estimated at over 85.7 thousand tons. Of this, the revenue from lychees and related services is estimated at over 5,775 billion VND, with revenue from lychees alone reaching over 4,814 billion VND.
Lychee from Bac Giang province is being sold successfully in both domestic and export markets. Exports reached over 24,700 tons, accounting for over 28.9% of total consumption. Domestic consumption reached over 60,900 tons, accounting for over 71%.

In addition, rising lychee prices have led to a sharp decrease in export volume to various markets this year. As of June 24th, over 24,500 tons of lychees had been exported to China. The remaining quantity was exported to other markets such as: EU (53 tons), Japan (45 tons), Australia (42 tons), the United States (20 tons), Dubai (21 tons), Canada (16 tons), and Southeast Asian countries (18 tons).
According to a representative from the Bac Giang Department of Industry and Trade, due to unfavorable weather conditions, the lychee harvest in 2024 reached approximately 100,000 tons, only 50% of last year’s yield. However, lychee prices surged from the very beginning of the season, doubling or even tripling compared to 2023. Prices ranged from 55,000 to 85,000 VND/kg, the highest ever recorded.
