Mỹ hỗ trợ 100 tỷ đồng cho dự án sử dụng phân bón đúng

1. Information about the right fertilizer use project:

The project is expected to run for 4 years (from 2024 to 2027), with technical support from experts of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the International Rice Research Institute, and Vietnamese scientists.

The project is implemented in:

– 3 provinces in the Red River Delta: Hai Duong, Thai Binh, Nam Dinh.

– 3 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta: Can Tho, Dong Thap and Soc Trang.

The estimated budget is 4.4 million USD (equivalent to more than 100 billion VND), funded by the Foreign Agricultural Service (under USDA).

2. Significance of the project:

Farmers in the project provinces will gain access to techniques, apply advanced technology, and practice precision agriculture to optimize the use of inputs, including fertilizer in rice cultivation, so that good practices can be scaled up nationwide.

The project's activities are designed and implemented based on the 4R principles of nutrient management: the right source, the right rate, the right time, and the right place.

U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam Marc Knapper said the right fertilizer use project will provide technical support and training to rice farmers to improve livelihoods, ensure food security, and improve soil health.
